Homework 📝

After each lesson, I assign homework via Google Classroom that only those in our group will have access to. I’m not overly strict with homework as a teacher, but I always recommend it as it helps reinforce what we have learned in class.

My Teaching Methods 👨‍🏫

In my group lessons, I always try to focus on the four main language skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening). I also try to use Irish as much as possible in the lessons, resorting to English when necessary or when explaining new topics be it in grammar or vocabulary. The idea isn’t to throw you into the deep end immediately with your Irish, but rather expose you to as much of the language as possible without making you feel like you’re missing out on any important information!

In my group classes, we practice all language skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking), but the spotlight is on speaking. Don’t worry if you’re not sure how to say something – it’s important that you get used to speaking as much Swedish as possible and use the words you know, even if you don’t have the right words for everything. We learn by speaking and daring to make mistakes! The goal is to get used to speaking Swedish in a safe, encouraging space.
