Irish, made easy,
on the go!
One of the biggest hurdles for people learning Irish is that resources are either aimed at teaching you nothing more than conas atá tú? or materials aimed at fluent or near-native speakers.
My goal with this site is to create a space for learners for all levels, all along their Irish learning journey.
With my 5+ years experience teaching Irish and a lifelong language learner myself, I like to think that I know my stuff when it comes to making language learning not only fun, but effective (no 5 minute-a-day gimmicks here)!
Discover how to *actually* learn Irish!
Dia dhaoibh! Is mise Daniel!

Join a small group of fellow learners as we delve into the Irish language! By signing up to my Level 1 lessons, you’ll be able to partake in a class to both motivate and encourage you to be able to have your very first conversations in Irish. This isn’t like the Irish classes you had in school. Instead of focusing on learning off phrases you don’t really understand the meaning of, we will focus on the structure and meaning behind what we learn. 📚
➤ Course Structure + Layout 👨🏫
All lessons take place via Google Meets. You don’t need to download any new apps to your computer, all you’ll need is a web browser. Once you sign up, you’ll receive a link + Google Calendar event and you’re all set! 📹
All lessons come with a prepared slideshow presentation along with activities and worksheets to help you revise between lessons. My classes follow the CEFR scale and this level covers the first half the A1 (foundation) level. 🌱
After each lesson, you will receive homework to practice what we have covered in class. This can include a worksheet and/or a task or presentation to prepare. Homework is optional but highly recommended to help you master the various skills we cover in class. 📝
You will also receive access to my Google Drive for level 1 including all the materials found in the course along with my Pronunciation Masterguide to help you master Irish spelling and pronunciation. 🖥️
➤ My teaching Approach
In my lessons, I focus on the four key skills of learning any language reading, writing, speaking and listening. But personally, I always want to make sure that being able to speak a language is the central part of all my lessons. 🗣️
I like to incorporate activites such as Roth na gCeist (the question wheel) to get students understanding and answering simple, everyday questions with ease. 💭
As someone who has taught themselves French, Spanish, Scottish Gaelic and a smattering of Russian, Welsh, German and Cornish, I like to think I know my stuff when it comes to actually learning a language. For me, learning a language is a hobby and such be engaging and fun, not just reading texts from a textbook or learning off a slew of phrases to try ‘surprise’ locals like you see in clickbaity YouTube videos. 🤓

Why learn with me?
I went through Irish-medium education and have had to priviledge to learn subjects such as maths, history, science all through the means of my own language. This has given me a unique position to be educated on an array of topics through Irish and speak Irish fluently on an academic level.
Languages for me is not just a job but my biggest hobby! As someone who has taught himself French, Spanish, Scottish Gaelic, Manx along with a smattering of Russian, German, Welsh and Cornish to name a few, I fully understand the trials and tribulations that come with learning a new language!
I have been teaching Irish online for over half a decade, teaching students from more thatn 20 different countries. I’ve used this time and experience to perfect and adapt my materials to make Irish not only more accessible but FUN to learn!
